Guineas Festival Betting Offers and Promotions
With the Guineas Festival being one of the most historic events in the British Flat racing season, it has managed to garner a significant following over the years. As a result, UK betting sites have been known to offer a range of bonuses for punters in the build up. Operators such as 888sport and Paddy Power often conjure up a solid selection of odds price boosts in the past, and there may also be one or two bet refund deals and perhaps even the odd free bet offer at some of the other sites we’ve featured here in our review series. Be sure to stay alert and keep close tabs on the promotions pages of your preferred bookies to ensure you give yourself every chance of cashing in on the best Guineas Festival betting offers.
Guineas Festival Betting Odds Levels
When on the prowl for the best Guineas Festival Betting odds levels, it can be hard to distinguish which operators offer the best value. As a general rule, all of the horse racing betting sites we’ve featured on the site will offer at least decent prices; this is largely due to the fact that they’re in competition with one another, so it pays to offer slightly more attractive numbers than your closest competitor. It is important to note, however, that the Guineas Festival – like many other top-class races – is a highly competitive event that has been known to produce winners with varying degrees of ability. It is not unheard of to see a long shot with odds as low as 40/1 – Night Of Thunder, the winner of the 2014 2000 Guineas Stakes springs to mind here – come away with the win, and the same applies for the 1000 Guineas. It normally pays, therefore, to hold off until nearer the time before you go ahead and start wagering.
Some Interesting Facts
The Guineas Festival takes place in one of the most picturesque settings out of all the events we have reviewed. In the tranquil countryside of Suffolk, a South Eastern county in the UK with a rich history of horse racing. Some truly great names have won top prizes at this festival. Among them are the British thoroughbred Frankel; Camelot, trained by the great Aidan O’Brien; Rock of Gibraltar, a true Irish great; Minding, another great Irish Champion; Nashwan, an American-bred British-trained thoroughbred that won many accolades in the late 1980’s, and several more.

The Guineas Festival is a prestigious one-day event that features two of Britain’s most-loved classic races – the 1000 and the 2000 Guineas Stakes. Both races are reserved for three-year-old thoroughbreds; the 1000 Stakes is reserved for fillies while the 2000 Stakes excludes geldings. Both races are run over the distance of one mile and both offer a shared purse of £500,000 (£283,550 goes to the first-place winner).
The Story So Far
The Guineas Festival is yet another heritage, British racing event that represents true quality and prestige. The 2000 Guineas Stakes is the older of the two (by five years) and was first run back in 1809. Both races were established by the Jockey Club – the UK’s biggest commercial horse racing organisation and the owner of 15 major racecourses across the British Isles – under the guidance of Sir Charles Bunbury, an extremely important figure in the development of British horse racing, who also established the Derby at Epsom some twenty years prior in 1780.

Similar to the Derby, the rich cultural heritage and prestige tied to the Guineas races have led to them being recreated in similar forms in other nations around the world. Some European variations include the German 1,000 Guineas, a Group 2 race for three-year-old fillies held in Düsseldorf every June; the Irish 1000 Guineas of Group 1 status held at Curragh in May; and the French 1,000 Guineas (or the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches), a Group 1 race run over roughly a mile at the Longchamp Racecourse in May. The British Guineas remain the originals, however, and they still manage to capture the hearts of British horse racing lovers after more than two centuries
