Dubai World Cup Betting Offers & Promotions

Despite the fact that the event isn’t one of the most high-profile races in the UK, you can, at times, find some pretty good Dubai World Cup betting offers at the bookies. These will most probably come in the form of an odd enhanced odds price offer on chosen selections and, as to be expected, a best odds guaranteed promotion of some kind.

Dubai World Cup Odds Prices

Dubai World Cup odds prices vary significantly depending on the operator. As with any major event, bookies know that there’s a lot of competition for business, particularly when it comes to betting online. With this in mind you can expect to find odds ranging from around 80 – 85%, although they have been known to fluctuate from year to year.

Some Interesting Facts

The Dubai World Cup Race is the part of the Dubai World Cup Night of races, the premier showcase of thoroughbred horse racing in the Middle East, and is normally held on the last Saturday in March. One of the things that makes the Dubai World Cup unique from any other race in world is that because gambling is illegal in the United Arab Emirates, no on-site betting of any kind takes place over the course of the event, making it quite unlike the Grand National. This may seem unusual for UK punters seeming as betting on horses is undoubtedly one of the single most important aspects of major horse racing meets in the British Isles. However, what the event lacks in gambling it makes up for in sheer spectacle. The Dubai World Cup night is well-known for providing first-class entertainment; headline acts such as Seal, Kylie Minogue and Janet Jackson have all performed concerts at the event against the backdrop of breath-taking pyrotechnics and lightshows.

Historical Info

While the Dubai World Cup has found its permanent home in Meydan, between 1996-2009 it was held at the Nad Al Sheba Racecourse. After construction of the Meydan Racecourse complex was completed in 2010 – with its five-star trackside hotel, nine-hole golf course, mile-long grandstand and countless corporate business suites – the racing showcase had its first official meet where it was won by the American thoroughbred horse, Cigar, and jockey, Jerry Bailey.

Since then, ten American-trained horses have gone on to win the event, including Invasor (2007) and Animal Kingdom (2013), making US-trained horses the most successful in the race to date. Horses trained in the United Arab Emirates also have a good record, with Prince Bishop, African Story and Monterosso all having claimed first-place spots in the last decade. The fastest time ever recorded for the race (1:59.50) is held by Dubai Millennium, an Arab-trained stallion who was three-years-old in 2000 when he set the record.
